PATHWAY TO RECOVERY
ready to reach new heights? Let's get there, together.
At ECHO Detroit, we provide multiple pathways to recovery through two core programs designed to support individuals at every stage of their journey—from immediate stabilization to long-term recovery and community connection.
Services & Programs

Engagement Center
This innovative 23-hour respite space decreases the burden on hospitals E.D.’s, EMS services, and police thru providing a participant-friendly environment as an alternative. The center provide harm reduction, support, and guidance toward the “next steps” to wellness when a person, or a family is unsure of which way to go. For additional information, follow this link.
Onsite Behavioral Health Program
As a vital part of the community outreach, ECHO Detroit’s recovery coaches provides a variety of wrap-around services to the unhoused population who are users of opioids or other drugs. We target the shelters, warming centers and other locations throughout Detroit, Highland Park, and Hamtramck. Meeting people where they are, the coaches facilitate entry into treatment, harm reduction interventions, medical and mental health services, and housing options.
Recovery Housing (Men)
For men who are experiencing housing insecurity, or without a safe, supportive, recovery environment, the Academy has 25 recovery housing beds as a short-term alternative while the person is developing an improved living situation. With funding as a Medicaid approved benefit, recovery housing is available for 4 months for men
Recovery Housing (Women)
Similar to the recovery housing unit for men, SHAR Academy houses 18 recovery housing beds for women. During this 4 month period, program participants may attend school, seek employment, stable housing and other avenues to enhance their lives and build their recovery capitol.
Transportation Services
The lack of transportation have been identified as a severe barrier that hinders many disadvantaged people from getting the help they need. As a result we have an ADA outfitted van, and drivers to transport individuals to the numerous services that will benefit them in their recovery process. To arrange services, the individual need to call 313 674-5077 to coordinate service requests.
Community Outreach, Harm Reduction, and Recovery Support Services
Our team of recovery coaches go into the community to provide an evolving spectrum of Harm Reduction services to the at-risk population of Detroit. Services include infectious disease testing (Hep C & HIV, supplies), assist in obtaining insurance, making referrals and connections to other services.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
MAT has proven to be a very effective tool in helping individuals using opioids and alcohol to stay alive, achieve abstinence and possibly long-term recovery. Our primary focus in the MAT program is to connect the individual to the prescriber, the medication most suitable to their situation, and a recovery coach to help them to navigate through the recovery process.
